What Develop holds

Develop is where a formula becomes a governed record instead of a spreadsheet. One canonical ingredient carries identity, allergens, country of origin, and supporting documents. A formula references it, so a change to an ingredient's facts is visible everywhere that ingredient is used.

A released formula version is immutable. Reformulation creates a new version, so the record behind last quarter's production stays intact even after the recipe changes.

What's in it

• Ingredient master with allergens, NDI status, country of origin, and a printable dossier.
• Formula versions with database-enforced immutability, comparison, and gated promotion to production.
• Deterministic Supplement Facts (21 CFR 101.36) and Nutrition Facts (21 CFR 101.9) panel rendering, with CFR-cited rounding and explicit panel-row ordering.
• Allergen statements, dietary flags, Prop 65 surfacing, and upper-limit warnings derived from the formula, not entered by hand.
• Claims register with substantiation evidence, impact rating, and a DSHEA check against marketing copy.
• Cost-per-serving and landed-cost calculation from the formula amount, overage, and current supplier pricing.
• Artwork review, flavor variants, proprietary blends, and a release-readiness gate that refuses approval until the blockers clear. Formula versions created by the historical bulk importer arrived pre-approved as part of that migration and were never run through this gate.

Who reaches for it

R&D and product development own the formula. Quality Assurance and Compliance review the release-readiness gate and the claims register before a version goes to production. Everyone downstream, from Make to Move, works off the same approved version.
