What it does
A supplier lot, a batch, and every shipment it fed are linked, so tracing forward from an ingredient lot or backward from a customer complaint is a lookup, not an investigation.
Blast-radius calculation shows exactly which finished lots and shipments a recall would reach. A timed mock recall drill exercises that same calculation before it is ever needed for real.

Where the record is honest about its limits
The FSMA 204 export produces the key data elements the format calls for; it does not yet model facility, GLN, or SSCC identifiers, and EDI submission is on the roadmap, not shipped. Where an attribute cannot be sourced, the export says so instead of guessing.
